The CEF100 Commemoration Support Community
An initial focus of CEF100 efforts was to establish credibility by engaging a broad community of supporters who had an understanding of the importance and relevance of Great War commemoration.
This Company of Gentlemen and Women Commemoration Adventurers was to be a loose group of similar-minded individuals working towards a common purpose.
Ideally, Company members would functions with high integrity, effectiveness, openness and in the spirit of outreach and collaboration. They would view the Great War with open, assessing minds; respect the experiences and sacrifices of those who served and were impacted; and promote the ways history’s lessons can be applied today and in the future.
While always conscious of what is effective and respectful, they would be creative in defining and developing initiatives; passionate in promoting and supporting projects and events; and bold in seeking support.
For most supporters, being a Great War commemoration supporter does not require very much time. What it does require is a sense of commitment to commemoration; to promoting CEF100 and other organizations during day-to-day conversations; to making connections with people and organizations that can support and assist the cause; and to engage with fellow adventurers in a positive, creative and collaborative journey over the centenary years.
Governors, Champions and Boosters
Governors and champions form the heart of the CEF100. They share a strong commitment to the CEF100 purpose and to supporting the organization’s development.
Governors have prime responsibility for the good governance of the organization as well as acting as champions.
Champions are formal boosters, who can open doors and promote the organization’s development. They have the connections and stature to get CEF100 representatives invited to boardrooms, receptions, conferences and/or key commemoration planning committees.
Boosters are people who support the purpose and promote CEF100 in their various communities of interest. They also provide CEF100 with information on people and events of note.
