CEF100 and the US World War One Historical Association (WW1HA) have established an affiliation agreement for mutual promotion, access to publications and the potential development of collaborative projects.
The WW1HA is a non-profit organization committed to promoting interest in the period 1914-1918 and perpetuating the memory of all those who served their countries. They work to build awareness of the First World War and its profound and lasting effects through their publications, website, and blog, as well as local chapters, tours of the battlefields, and annual seminars that feature speakers from around the world.
The WW1HA was formed in 2011 by the merger of The Great War Society and the Western Front Association – U.S. Branch. There are seven chapters: Eastbay Chapter, San Francisco and Peninsula Chapter, Southwest Chapter, Midwest Chapter, Great Lakes Chapter, Florida-Gulf Coast Chapter, and the New England-New York Chapter.

The CEF100 Commemoration Society (CEF100) and the World Heritage Tourism Research Network (WHTRN) have entered into an affiliation relationship for mutual promotion and the potential development of collaborative projects.
The WHTRN is dedicated to fostering collaborative research that addresses the challenges and opportunities of tourism at World Heritage sites and their surrounding regions. WHTRN is composed of scholars and researchers, cultural heritage professionals, World Heritage site managers, tourism operators, and destination management organizations who are interested in designing and conducting research that addresses tourism at World Heritage sites and their adjacent communities and territories.
The WHTRN is currently involved in international efforts to embed and preserve the heritage of the First World War (WWI) in a permanent and sustainable manner. This includes the potential for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage list as landscapes of war memories. A team of WHTRN researchers has conducted a survey that “gathered the collective views of nearly 3,000 participants, many from the 50 or more nations that were directly involved in the battles of WWI.” The objective was to determine, amongst other things, contemporary perceptions of the WWI, especially amongst youth, and how they remember the legacy and significance of this period in our world’s history. Another key objective was to determine how tourism can be a means to preserve the heritage of the First World War.
